pants. pants! PANTS!

     So when I first started working at anthropologie, I was all about the dresses. I was always afraid that if I didn't overdress, I'd get sent home or something [for not properly representing the brand]. But as my days there became weeks and now months, I realized that I can represent myself and my store's brand just as well in pants. And especially with how many closing shifts I've had lately [four out of four work days since I've been back from 'laska!], the idea of not being cold in the store [or when leaving after night-fall], not worrying about my dress revealing a tad too much of me or even just having pockets [which is necessary for keeping a walkie-talkie on your person] have never been more appealing. So hooray for pants!

Labor Day

     So today was a national holiday, people. Which means that I still had to work. But it was super awesome to do so because we closed at 6pm, so even with a closing shift, I was home by 8:30pm and I got time and a half! Score!

Saturday Nights.

     When you work a job with hours other than the typical 9 to 5 [to make your dreams come true. but I don't wanna be like you!] then you end up going out on the town on weird nights [like Tuesdays and Thursdays] and staying in on Friday and Saturday nights. I was scheduled for an on-call closing shift [6pm to around 11:30pm], so I didn't know if I'd be working until 4pm this afternoon [seriously, tell me about it. worst shift ever.] so I made very tentative nighttime plans. Then when I called in at 4pm, my manager asked me to come in at 5pm to be off at 9pm. Pretty perfect, eh? Well, long story short [too late!], I got off at a pretty perfect time to go out [and made more than enough $$$ to cover any bar expenses], but my plans fell through :[ oh well. now I can spend what I made on what matters [like gas for my babe] and spend my night with a few Horrible Bosses ;]

     Yeah so last night, we taught a very adorable Frenchman to play King's Cup by the pool. Then we went to the bars in Palo Alto and sang along to some of the most painful karaoke I've ever experienced. And watched a guy break dance all of the place. By himself. It was kind of magical.

Casual Wednesday?

     So this morning, I woke up at 7:30am to a call from my job. Two rings then it was over. Frantically, I called back, thinking I must have messed up reading the schedule and was supposed to be at work at 7am, not the 4pm to 8pm on-call shift I thought I had. But no, someone just called in sick, so my manager thought I might come be able to come in early [but then realized how early it was (I had closed the night before), felt bad and hung up]. But of course, I jumped at the chance to get some hours [and some dolla dolla bills yo] in today, so I was at work by 10am. Sometimes it's really nice to not have a life and be able to change your entire day like that so easily! 
     And since I have Thursday and Friday off this week [I've worked everyday since last Friday, so I think I deserve it. and so do my feet and my knees!] so today was kind of like my Friday. So I went casual. Deal with it!

     Sooo I was running super late for work yesterday, so I wasn't able to post this before I left. I also wasn't able to take any photos of my work outfit, soooo I took them in the break room during my lunch break.

UPDATE:

     So I went to work and bought lots of things before my shift started (#sorryforpartyrocking). And then proceeded to wear said items at work. but seriously. Today I was like a walking anthropologie/urban outfitters ad.  Dress, bracelet and necklace all from anthropologie and shoes from urban. And then at the end of my shift, I bought a floppy hat. Because who could resist the following hat for $13? Not this girl.
